Literature Text

The bright yellow spring Sun shone happily above the little park, which was really nothing more than simple grassland with a stone walkway that twisted around small hills, a few benches, lamp posts and trees and a small fountain with the Greek goddess Aphrodite, the Goddess of love, in the center. Little children laughed and played whilst birds chirped, perching themselves in their trees with their newly hatched young. A special kind of warmth could be felt throughout the park.
With no attempt to take in the beauty of the day, you walked the red brick path with no real intent, but to give yourself something else to do than sit in your room, being upset. Why would you be upset? Because you had a hopeless crush on a certain Lithuanian who refused to acknowledge your feelings, being too busy chasing after the ever-insane Natalia. You took in the warm air then exhaled, telling yourself not to think about. You came out to get your mind off of that, not dwell on it more.
You kept your eyes on the bricks as you walked, noting their pattern: small, varying box together making one larger box and then continuing in a similar way with more squares and rectangles arranged in a different way; some of the small bricks where brighter than others, some more orange and some partially cracked in the corner from years of wear and tear.
A tap on your shoulder brought you out of your intended distraction. You looked up and turned your head to see Eduard, Toris' brother and a friend of yours.
“Hello, Miss (Name).” He said, his Estonian accent ever apparent. You turned to him fully. “Hey, Ed.”
“Miss (Name), you look sad...” Is it really that obvious? [Yes.] “What's wrong?”
“Oh...nothing...” You turned back and continued walking. Eduard followed you, not believing you for a second. He continued asking you what was wrong and you would always answer the same thing.
“What's wrong?”
“Nothing.”
“Something is bothering you.”
“No it's not.”
“Tell me what's wrong.”
“It's not important.”
“You realize you just admitted something is wrong, right?”
Curse him and his smartness! Tricking me like that. You sighed. “Ok, something is wrong, but I don't feel like talking about it, ok.” You sounded a bit harsher than you meant to, but Eduard wouldn't hold that against you. He was...him.
Eduard frowned. You weren't the best of friends, but it still made him upset that something as bother you so much that you would actually (sort of) yell at him. He continued to follow you, keeping quiet until he could figure out a way to get you to sing. He looked around the park as you two walked. Finally he got it. “What took me so long to think of it?”
You looked up, feeling guilty for snapping at Eduard like that. He had been unusually quiet since that little moment, making you feel even worse. You turned around to apologize, but he was gone. You blinked a few times, wondering when he had left you or if he had even been there to begin with. ”Maybe my mind was just playing tricks on me.” You thought as you turned around to resume walked, almost immediately meeting with a pair of brilliant green eyes that showed both concern and slight shock.
Toris had his hand raised, like he was going to tap your shoulder to get your attention. “Hello, (Name).” He said, lowering his hand. You managed to hold him the blush you felt coming to your face as you replied. “Hi, Toris. Can I help you?” Your voice sounded about two octaves higher than it shoulder have.
“Eduard told me you were feeling sad, but he couldn't get you to tell him what was wrong, so I came to see if maybe I could.”
You looked at the bricks again, not really trying to fight back the blush. He was just so darn cute and sweet and he made your heart jump without even trying! “O-oh...well...I'm fine. It's nothing important.”
Toris frowned. He didn't like that you were keeping secrets from him. Then he smiled, getting an idea. “I know what will make you feel better.” He took your hand his. You looked at him shocked and no longer able to hold your blush in; that smile on his face and the warmth of his hand wouldn't allow that. He ran through the path, dragging you with him. You tried your best to keep pace with him.
“Toris, where are we g...” Before you could finish your question, Toris stopped. You both were now standing in front of a stationary ice cream truck. Toris ordered your favorite ice cream to your exact specifications and handed it to you. “Here.” He said. You laughed a bit and gave him a slight smile. “You know my weakness.” You said, taking it from him. Toris smiled more and the ordered something for himself and paid for both. He took you to a bench by Aphrodite and the two of you sat, watching the water glisten in the afternoon sunlight.
He waited a while before speaking a again. “Now, tell me what's wrong.” He said, tightening his grip on your hand, which he never let go of, slightly. You frowned again. Should you tell him? Holding it in wasn't healthy, but neither was the pain that came with rejection or the possible loss of a good friend. He squeezed your hand again. “Please tell me.”
The hurt in his voice from attained from your pain. You looked down at your ice cream. You had to tell him, but how could you without something going completely wrong. Then it hit you. Without looking at him, you said,
“You're good with literature, right?” You knew of his love of reading. He nodded. “Yes. Why?”
“Well...you see I was writing this little story...about this girl. She...has this crush on a boy...no, actually she's completely head over heels for him...but...”
“He doesn't lover her back?”
“Worse. He loves someone else.”
“Ah~”
“And what's even worse than that is...this person he loves hates him. He's told her of his feelings more than once before and she's rejected him every time because SHE loves someone else.
Anyway, she really wants to tell him her feelings and wants to try to convince him of the other girls' feelings, too, but...”
“But she doesn't want to get hurt or have him think he's lying to get him...ruining their friendship either way...” His words were ore of a fact than a question.
“Yea.” You nodded. You took a deep breath, feeling yourself sink more and more into the bench. Toris released your hand and then pulled his arm around you for support, trying to get your to go on. You sat up a bit and leaned into him. He felt so comfortable.
“I-I really want this story to have a happy ending, but...but I don't know what to do.” You started crying. Toris gently wiped away the tears.
“I can see why this upsets you.” His voice was...if this is even possible...softer than normal. You sniffled and nodded. “Y-yea. It really upsets me that I can't do it and every time I think about it...I only get sad endings that...that make me more s-sad.” You choked on your words. Toris pulled you into a tight hug. “Sh. Don't cry. He said, burying his face into your head. You looked up at him. “Wh-what should I...should I do?”
“Hm...maybe the boy should love her back, but...he’s afraid. Maybe they're good friends and he doesn't want to ruin that because he values it more than his own life, so he flirts with the other girl to hopefully get over those feelings, not knowing he's hurting the one he really loves by doing that. Or...maybe he's always known, but he keeps doing it because he doesn't want to get into the relationship with the girl and then ruin it by doing something stupid.” He gently rubbed your back. “One day, they finally talk. She tells him everything without knowing she did and he helps her, purpose acting like he doesn't know. And then...” Toris pulled out of this embrace. He lifted your chin up with the hand that wasn't around you, making you look at him. He slowly leaned in, pressing his lips softly to yours.
Your eyes widened with shock, but slowly closed from pleasure. He kissed back only a little before he pulled away. Face red, from crying and from the kiss, you stared at him. His eyes were half-lidded and there was a smile on his face. “The end...”
This was actually form another account, SapphirePrincess117. The account's still active, but I don't use it since i switched to here. I got rid of it before, but I reactivated because there's some stuff favorited on there that I don't want to have to look for again and don't have time to go through.
Anyway, this is my personal favorite story because I loves him. He's absolutely adorable. If you don't like ice cream, then just pretend you do.
